Some say that we only use 10% of our brain.

No we never.

If that were true, then brain damage wouldn’t matter unless it hit the important 10% bit.

That would mean you could take a hammer to most of your skull and still do your taxes.

If 90% of the brain was useless, why would evolution waste energy keeping it? What’s the rest of it doing—just sitting there like an empty attic?

Please don’t tell me you think most of your brain is switched off as well do you? Saying that, if you do then maybe it’s true in your case.
