#101 Tyranny of Patterns

“The truth is not inconvenient. It is impertinent. And that is why they fear it.”

In the year 2594, Earth is a world of even starker divisions—towering Sky-Citadels house the elite, while sprawling subterranean slums trap the abandoned masses.

The ruling class, engineered for intellectual and genetic superiority, dictate the course of civilization from their ivory towers, rewriting history with each passing century.

Among them stands the illustrious House of Vexen, an aristocratic dynasty at the heart of the Concordium, the secretive council that has steered humanity’s fate for over five hundred years.

The Vexens believe emotions—love, guilt, regret—are vestiges of a primitive past, weaknesses to be erased in favor of pure logic. Their empire thrives on control, their hands manipulating every aspect of governance, commerce, and even memory itself.

But their carefully curated reality begins to unravel when the youngest heir, Soren Vexen, discovers forbidden archives that expose an ancient truth: The Concordium’s rise was not one of enlightened progress, but a ruthless cycle of orchestrated collapses, each followed by historical erasure.

Every empire before them—Rome, the industrial titans of the 21st century, the technocracies of the 22nd and 23rd—were not conquered by chaos, but pruned by their own hand.

As Soren grapples with his newfound knowledge, his sister, Veyna Vexen, the ruthless enforcer of the family legacy, moves to silence him. Their battle mirrors the echoes of history—empires that fell to the weight of their own arrogance, societies pacified through misinformation, and revolutions crushed before they could spark.

But this time, something is different. Below the Citadels, in the depths of the forsaken world, the forgotten billions have been waiting. Watching. Preparing.

Forced to choose between loyalty to his bloodline and the truth, Soren becomes the unwitting fulcrum of a rebellion centuries in the making.

Will the cycle be broken forever? Or the pattern of tyranny be woven in again….and again….
