In a grim, near-future society ravaged by a deadly bio-plague, humanity’s only hope for survival lies in a black-market economy fueled by genetic modification and experimental drugs.
The ultra-wealthy hoard the last remnants of untainted DNA, while the desperate poor sell their bodies to pharmaceutical overlords who inject them with volatile serums—turning them into living test subjects.
Amidst the chaos, a woman named Lyra is forcibly inducted into this horrific system when she is captured and marked with a biohazard sigil, signifying her as a “Mutant Incubator”—a human vessel used to cultivate the next generation of engineered bioweapons.
With a grotesque tattoo depicting her cursed fate, she begins her transformation, flesh tearing and veins pulsing as her body mutates beyond recognition.
Haunted by the hallucinations of past victims and pursued by bounty hunters eager to claim her volatile blood for profit, Lyra fights to escape the labyrinthine slums and find a rumored underground resistance that seeks to dismantle the pharmaceutical regime.
But time is running out—her mutation is accelerating, and she may no longer be entirely human.
In a world where life is currency and addiction is control, Blood Currency asks: how much of your humanity are you willing to sell to survive?
